I’ve found it all boils down to episodes and events. If you
live your life with attachment, then you bring episodes into your life
that will lead to events that you didn’t want to happen. For instance, people move from one place to another because they think someplace else is better than where they are. So they move with attachment to this other place and the results often are not what they expected.
But the enlightened person has over come this illusion and is not attached to either going or staying. So now when
circumstances lead her in one direction or the other (this will be the
episode in her life) the event will be a step towards higher
awareness. Often times we can be so upset with the event that we
don’t recognize it as something that we needed to bring us further
down our spiritual path. Especially the materialistic person can only
see the loss of things in his physical world without becoming aware of
the spiritual gains. Kind of like Christ being crucified. He was
always loving without attachment and circumstances brought Him to the cross. Now the world thought it created this event in his life to
show people what happens to a person who won’t be controlled. But for Christ, the crucifixion was still the episode leading up to His rising
from the dead. So anyway this is the kind of stuff that runs through
my mind these days. Have a wonderful day, dear reader, the weather here is just beautiful.
